One of the reasons I find archaeology interesting is because you are not only able to go on a thrilling search for ancient artifacts from the past, but you are also able to analyze your findings and visualize the past in front of your own eyes. You get to touch things that people have touched 1000 years ago. You can imagine what life was like and how people behaved. You get to look for graves and bones and evidence as to why the past was the way it was. You might find a tomb of a ancient pharaoh and examine his or her death. You can examine bones that you have found. There are archaeological sites all over the world, where only archaeologist are allowed to go to. I find history very interesting and would find it fascinating to be able to find evidence of the past.
Another reason to why I would like to become an archaeologist is, being able to travel around the world. I have traveled to many countries where there are some famous archaeological sites for example, Turkey and Greece. I grew up traveling all over the world with my family and I find it very fun. You get to see the difference in each country and compare them afterward. You get to find out more about the history of culture in the particular country that your a searching/studying in. And everywhere the culture is different, so it will never be boring and I will always have something to do and learn. I don't want to sit in an office and do paperwork, I want to travel around and go to different places and learn interesting things about that countries past.
Last but not least, my final reason of why my dream job is to become an archaeologist is because it is not a problem, for me, getting my hands dirty.Tying back to what I said in the beginning paragraph, I would love to dig around in the dirt to find bones and artifacts. Using different tools to build together a skeleton would be so much fun. Discovering a secret tunnel where people might have hid and lived in, 1000 years ago. Analyzing art work found on rock walls, finding pots and pans they used to cook in. The thought of using small utensils and tools to carve out dirt and to brush off dust is really exciting. I like to go outside and discover new things and I think that archaeology would fit to my characteristics perfectly.
All in all I think archaeology is fascinating and would be an amazing, fun job. In fact as I said in my my first paragraph my grandfather was an archaeologist too, so I think it would be nice to have the same dream job as my grandfather. I hope that one day I have the chance to become an archaeologist.
